Words & Light exists for those couples, the elopements, the micro weddings, the gatherings where every person there truly belongs.
We're Monty and Nic, a marriage celebrant and photographer with 25 years of combined experience and over 1,300 weddings between us. We've joined forces to offer something intentionally simple: a ceremony crafted around your story, and photography that captures it honestly.
No unnecessary extras. No production line. Just two people who are very good at what they do, working together and keeping it simple.

The Words & Light package brings together a short ‘n’ sweet ceremony and an intimate photography session designed to work seamlessly as one.
A 15-minute ceremony, written around your story and delivered by a Commonwealth-registered celebrant. All legal requirements covered.
1.5 hours of photography, ceremony coverage, family portraits, and couple portraits. Candid, natural, and genuinely you.
Up to 20 guests, intimate by design. Need a few more? Just ask.
Your choice of location, anywhere within roughly an hour of Newcastle.

If you have a specific location in mind, a favourite winery, a quiet beach, a family property, bring it. We know this part of the world well, and we're always up for somewhere new.
